Kundalini is a Sanskrit term meaning "coiled snake." It refers to a dormant spiritual energy located at the base of the spine, in the Muladhara (Root) chakra. In most people, this energy sleeps throughout their lifetime. But when awakened, it rises through the central energy channel (Sushumna), activating each chakra and culminating in a state of enlightenment at the Crown.
